CORE Learning Named to California’s Approved List of Literacy Professional Development Providers

Elementary Reading Academy and Online Language & Literacy Academy approved under California Education Code Section 33319.6

SAN FRANCISCO , CA, UNITED STATES, September 17, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — CORE Learning, a literacy-focused professional learning organization serving PK-12 educators nationwide, announced today that two of its flagship programs have been named to California’s official list of approved literacy professional development providers.

Under Assembly Bill 121 (Statutes of 2025), the California Department of Education (CDE) and State Board of Education (SBE) developed an approved list of in-service professional development programs for teaching literacy in transitional kindergarten through grade five (TK-5). The initiative, authorized under Education Code Section 33319.6, will guide how the state’s $200 million in literacy PD funding is used by local educational agencies (LEAs) between the 2026-27 and 2029-30 fiscal years.

CORE Learning’s Elementary Reading Academy (ERA) and Online Language & Literacy Academy – Elementary (OL&LA-E), both paired with coaching and site implementation support, are included on the SBE-approved list.
